Learning how to cook pasta is simple. It is amazing how many new dishes you will be adept at cooking immediately after learning how to cook pasta. Many of them simply require the pasta and a sauce you can buy at the store.
You will need the following ingredients/items:
- A large stock pot
- some salt
- a wooden spoon
- your choice of pasta
Add water to a few inches below the lip of the pot and add salt; only a 1/2 teaspoon is needed. Bring to a boil and add the pasta slowly working it in using the wooden spoon.
Once it is all in the water, let it return to a boil. As soon as it boils set a timer for 8 minutes and stir the pasta often to prevent sticking. It may take a little longer depending on amount cooked, but probably no more than 14 minutes total. Taste to determine if its done. Remove it from heat and drain it into a colander over the sink shaking out the excess water. Serve with your favorite meatballs, sauce, chicken, or sauteed vegetables.
